OUR MISSION
Classes at Platinum Dance Studio will provide students with the opportunity to learn and master the art of dance. By integrating dance into their lives, we hope to give each student a renewed sense of dedication, ambition, character, and a chance to express themselves. This renewed sense of self will give each child the confidence to master all of their dreams.
LaTonya Chastain is a native of Nashville, TN who has been involved in the dance industry for over 20 years and is most recently proud to announce that she is a Co-Owner of Platinum Dance Studio. Her performance experience includes the Nashville Ballet Nutcracker and Cinderella, Middle Tennessee State University Dance Team Captain, NFL TN Titans Cheerleader and AFL Nashville Kats Dancer. LaTonya found her niche in teaching and choreographing as she has been doing and loving this for over 15 years. She was a Head Instructor for Universal Dance Association which specializes in summer camps for high school and college dance teams and has produced Teen, Miss and Mrs. Tennessee and Virginia International Pageants. As a MTSU graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Education Degree, most recently, LaTonya started the Wilson Central Fine Arts Dance Program and currently coaches the West Wilson Middle School and Wilson Central High School Dance Teams, which have received high accolades during her tenure.
Combining her knowledge from various Nashville area dance studios, coaching a collegiate dance team and performing as a professional cheerleader and dancer programs, LaTonya has always been involved in the dance field and is eager to share her love with the youth of Wilson County. Mrs. Chastain currently resides in Mt. Juliet, TN with her husband of 5 years, daughter Sydney and son Parker and dog Tyson. In her free time she enjoys shopping, traveling, bowling and theme parks.
Stephanie Janse Van Rensburg is a native of Wilson County, who has over 15 years performance experience in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom and Tap, to name a few. Most recently, along with being co-owner of Platinum Dance Studio, she is a Nashville Predators dancer and this professional job has given her the opportunity to do charity events, perform with Kevin Rudolf at Acoustic Christmas and being an ESPN Fight Night Live ring girl. Through Xcel Talent Agency, she has also been featured in the country music group Heartland’s music video as well as performed as a background dancer for Kid Rock. Stephanie is a promotional girl for Rockstar Energy Drink and has attended Wakeforest and Strikeforces events. With a Business Management Degree, Stephanie has taken every opportunity to be involved in dance since a very young age and is excited that her passion for this art form is her motivation to inspiring and promoting children’s creativity in Wilson County. Ms. Janse Van Rensburg currently resides in Nashville. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out and shopping.
